Highlights of 2025

TOWN BOARD MEETINGS ARE HELD THE 2ND THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH. Attendance is encouraged.

– Town levy was raised to help repair roads and the township approved a $20 wheel tax for one year.
– No changes were made to compensation for elected board members.
– Meeting notices are posted at the Town Garage and on the town website: townofrichlandwi.gov.
– Town of Richland has hired ABT Swayne as well as Boardman and Clark for legal counsel.
– Town of Richland hired Delta 3 Engineering for grant writing.
– Contract signed with Burkhamer Excavating for road maintenance/repair and snow removal.
– Board will repair the following roads in this order as money comes available: 1. Morris Valley  2. Misslich  3. McAvoy
– Restructuring of the turnaround on Three Springs Lane was completed.
– Board approved Hope Lane as a township road. Board is considering abandoning Melody Lane and Evergreen Lane.
– Joint Ambulance Committee (JAC) was disbanded and the County resumed responsibility for the ambulance service. The Township is working on a contract either with the County or another entity for 2026 ambulance services.
– The Town Garage now has internet service through Spectrum for $50/month and a TV.
– City of Richland Center voted to close the landfill at the end of March 2026. The Township is looking into township wide garbage collection services. More information will be available on the town’s website at a later date.

To print/view tax bill, go to co.richland.wi.us, Departments, Treasurer, tax parcel information. Click Property, click I accept, type in owners name, search, click on property tax number, click taxes, at bottom click Print Tax Bill.

Same as last year, receipts will only be returned when requested. Receipts will be sent for payments received from mortgage companies, so you know payment was made.

TAX COLLECTION WILL OCCUR AT THE TOWN GARAGE (weather permitting) on:

December 30, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
January 29, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

To pay by mail, please send copy of tax bill along with a stamped self-addressed envelope for a receipt to:

Please make checks payable to “Town of Richland”. PLEASE BE SURE the amount written out on your check is correct. The bank credits the amount written out, not the numerical amount written in the box. The amount written will be what is credited for your taxes. ALSO REMEMBER to endorse escrow checks made out to you.

FOR DOG OWNERS, DON’T FORGET FIDO!

Please send a copy of current veterinarian certificate for each dog at least 5 months old or older living in the township. This should include owner’s name, address, dog’s name and breed, color, date of rabies vaccination, expiration date and serial number. There is a $5 late fee applied after April 1, 2026. Fees are as follows:

Female: $8.00        Spayed Female: $3.00           Male: $8.00              Neutered Male: $3.00

NOTICE: Please make sure culverts around your property remain clear. Per WI State Statutes 86.022, a person can be fined for placing an obstruction in any ditch. Please keep culverts and ditches clear for water to flow freely.

NOTICE: A fence ordinance will be discussed and reviewed in 2026. Nothing has been approved yet.. The Town of Richland is looking to put a fence ordinance in place to ensure property fences are at least 33 feet off the center line of the road, out of the road right-of-way. If and when the ordinance goes into effect, per WI State Statute 86.04, the Town of Richland will have the legal authority to remove any encroachment that lies within the identified road right-of-way if not removed within allotted timelines. Information pertaining to this ordinance will be available on the town website.
